GDT=> Jasleen Kaur

Happy Rakshabandhan everyone... It has been one heck of a hectic day for me and hence the delay in posting the GDT post.. Today I am very glad to have on baord with us a talented crafter who I think does some of the most amazing CAS cards ever.. There is just so much thought involved in her cards that she leaves us awe struck with them.. Presenting to you Jasleen Kaur.. Will pass on the baton to Jasleen to take it from here...

" Hello dear friends and fellow crafters, I'm Jasleen and most of you know me through my blog- Happily Ever Crafter
 I have been blogging since August 2013 and I enjoy spending my spare time trying different kinds of paper crafts, but I find the process of card making most relaxing and satisfying , my style inclined more towards Clean and Simple (CAS).
While making CAS cards, I try to keep these four key points in mind:
1. Lots of clean,  'white' space
2. One clear focal point
3. Minimal or no embellishments
4. Minimal or no layers

I made two CAS cards for today's post .Hope you like them.

Here's the first one:

Technique used::: Masking and stamping
---The leaf stamp is from Hero Arts Cling stamps collection.To convey the sentiment of 'Missing' someone, I inked the stamp with two memento inks(bamboo leaves and rhubarb stalk) and carefully masked a leaf with the help of a masking tape.The resultant stamped impression was devoid of that masked leaf, which gave me a space to stamp my sentiment. Then I inked only that one leaf and stamped it to the right of the sentiment. Masked and inked the corner in shades of blue,kind of  denoting the blues you get when you miss someone.Finally, added a few drops of Rangers' glossy accents over a couple of leaves, to give the appearance of dew drops.

What makes it CAS:--- one-layered, Lots of white space, one focal point, no embellishments.

And here's the second card::

Technique used:: Masking and inking
--The bow stamp and the sentiment is from the Waffle Flower Bowtiful stamp set. The colourful panels have been done by masking and inking with memento dew drop inks. The stamped bow was fuzzy cut and popped over the card base using foam, which gives it an interesting dimension.

What makes it CAS----- Lots of white space, one clear focal point,  white panel grounded over the white card base, minimal layers  and embellishments.

That's all from my side. I hope my post inspires you to try CAS if you still haven't. Do play along  this month's CAS challenge here at Kraftzone. I would love to see what you all come up with :) Thank you so much team for having me as a Guest Designer.

Signing off with a beautiful and inspiring quote( by Charles Mingus) I found at the CASology blog:-

"Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that's creativity."

Happy Crafting!! :) "

Now isn't this a great inspiration.. I was left awe struck with both of them.. I hope she has inspired you to join us in this fun CAS challenge.. For details you can check here.

Thank you so much Jasleen for the amazing inspiration...

Hugs,
Khush
