Altered Art with Sentiment

Hi crafty heads,
Here I am with a new challenge for this month, Altered Art with any sentiment ..
Getting dirty finger tips, a messy craft room and the feeling of achieving the desired result..and here is the end result...
I altered a wooden box with giving it a base coat with black gesso ( his is the first time i am experimenting with the white gesso's counterpart..and i loved the results..)
Used Dylusions 5x8 staggered brickwork stencil with some sakura modelling paste and heat set it. On heating the modelling paste it will bubble up little, i wanted this raised look instead of the flat surface..
This metal face had been in my stash for sometime now, and finally i thought of working the design of my box around this charm.
The face of the box had lots of metal flower charms, pearls, sequins adhered with the help of Glossy accents and also little texture using the Heidi Swapp stencil. After adhering all the charms i brushed black gesso all over the charms and modelling paste.
I have used Lindys Stamp Gang'sstarbust sprays..copper brown, poker orange and poppy teal. The next step was to jazz up the box a little and Viva's inka gold is the best product at hand.
I have also lined the inside box with Krylon gold leafing pen..i just love this versatile pen, you can use it on any surface and it dries super fast...
The side of the box also has a sentiment heat embossed in gold. The stamp os part of the penny black gratitude stamp set.

I have taken a 5.5"x 5.5" white textured cardstock. Inked the surface with distress ink (broken china) and than used Studio Calico's chevron mask stencil to layer it with salty ocean.

Next have used Martha Stewart Deco Fan round the edge punch (one of my favorite) and adhered the white strip to the center of the card.

I have used Marianne createables die baby pram, layered the hood with a yellow textured cardstock for the pram hood. Used mulberry flowers and fillers on the hood.

"Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen."

Hello all ,

Today I will be sharing picture heavy post with you guys where I will try my best to showcase the steps in making the cute wishing well using Prima's Latest Release - GARDEN FABLE COLLECTION
I so love alter art !

This is what it looked like when I started with it . You will have total of  8 pieces . The assembling part is a little tricky . You will need adhesive (synthetic resin fevicol) to stick it as all the joints .
Keep the roof aside and attach it later . After putting all the pieces let it dry for sometime .

I used Prima- Garden Fables A4 paper pad  for this project . I have cut paper strips measuring 1" x 4" and using doily punch by martha I have punched one side of the strips . This gave them a nice lacy scalloped edge .

I used fired brick distress ink to distress the edges .

I curved them a bit to give a thatched effect of a roof.

Meanwhile I had painted the structure with dark brown acrylic paint by artistic paints and kept it aside for drying .

Using ATC Gun(the pink glider tape ) I stuck the strips by layering them.

I  used the same distress ink to distress the sides of the box part of the wishing well .I have pasted the papers using synthetic resin fevicol . I say again you don't have to invest in any foreign brand adhesive for sticking papers on MDF.

and guys here is my final out come !!

Some close ups . Used Garden fables chipboards , Garden fables say it in crystals , some trims from my stash , mulberry flower  to decorate my cute little wishing well.
I have also used Mulberry flowers. Kraftzone has brought so many varieties of mulberry flowers recently be sure to check them out !

I hope you like my creation. Would love to see you try making your own wishing wells .

Please leave some leave .

Incase of any doubts please feel free to ask and leave a comment below .

Hello crafty people
This month the design team of kraftzone is sharing all useful tips , tricks and quick tutorials with the prima marketing products.
Today I am sharing a quick tutorial on how to your the journaling pads from prima - 4by6 , using the prima DEBUTANTE collection.

12 by 12 heavy weight cardstock for the cover and medium weight cardstocks for the inside flaps
Prima debutante a4 paper pad , 4 by 6 journal cards
tacky tape 1/4"
glossy accents

Take 12by12 heavy weight cardstock , cut it at 9.5 * 6.25 , score on the long side (9.5 side) at 4.25 and 5.25, you will get 1inch spine and book cover will measure 4.25" by 6.25"

Take the light weight cardstock , cut it into 8by6 (need 2 pcs ) , score on the long side (8 side) at 4 and fold , make 2 of these.
Again take the light weight cardstock , cut 4by12, score at 6 inch.

#Cut 4 pcs of pattern paper from a4 size 4.25 by 6.25 and stick to the cover and inside base ,
for the spine cute 1" by 6.25 (2pc) (NOTE:before sticking the pattern paper to the cover stick the ribbon for closure)

#Take your journal cards and trim a bit you will need 9 pieces.
Layer the scored flaps alternatively  and then stick it to the cover , I have added magnets to the flaps for keeping them intact you can avoid using magnets.

#Embellish as per your choice, your flip book mini is ready, you can add pictures or write journals.
Great for gifting.

Hope you like the mini tutorial.
Do leave some love and keep coming for more crafts updates .

Altered Shabby Chic Box

Hey lovely ppl,
This month we DT members will be showcasing Prima prodcuts..
Its always fun to up cycle, alter or change the boring look of our old belongings. So this time after thinking for almost a day, my eyes caught hold of this ugly looking nutties box which I use for storing my lazercuts..

{Warning: This is a photo heavy post :P..}

Lets start...
Took the old square box, used gesso to cover it and than painted it with Camlin Artist's Acrylic Colors (mixed titanium white, medium magenta, scarlet lake) to get the pastel pink tone.

I have used  Jodie Lee's Butterfly Paper pack from Prima (its a gorgeous collection )

Cut strips of desired size as per the box dimensions.

To give a little aged look i use Tonic Studio's Paper Distresser

Used my fav adhesive Hobby idea's fabric glue..sticks almost everything on any surface..If u look carefully u will be able to notice the distressed paper edges. I have not inked the edges to keep that softer look and it helps the paper to jut blend in the colored background.

For the lid I used my corner puncher to round of the corners as per the design of the box.

The Butterfly paper are so pretty so i thought of making flowers using the same pp.Here I have used Heartfelt Creations's Sun Kissed Fleur die set..(i skipped the using the coordinating stamp)

For shaping the flowers I used Mcgills Paper blossom embossing tools..and since i dont hv a proper embossing pad I used the Sospeso Transparente embossing just fine..

To give a little dimension to the flowers I sprinkled a little Diamond dust on the tips of the flower petals.

The pack has such lovely images that I couldn't  stop myself from some fussy cutting..
(adhered the fairy with two way foam tape)

Now comes the layout part for the lid..I have put together the handmade flowers, mulberry roses, Prima's  Resin Shabby Chic Treasures and Swirls.
For the oval center resin charm I used Viva's Inka Gold..just love the golden finish it gives..easy to apply and quick to dry..

To finish the look I have also used lace from my mom's stash..

And finally here is the complete look....

For the Prima supplies, heartfelt creations dies and stamps, paper distresser, sospeso supplies, inka gold, you can check Kraftzone store here..

Looking forward more of your  upcycle/altered share on the Kraftzone FB page.

Till then,
